About the Candidate
Jack Woehr's five (5) runs (walks?) for office:
- 1994
- Having received 40% of the vote at the nominating assembly, Jack found himself in a primary race for the Democratic nomination for Colorado's 6th US Congressional District. He campaigned largely on the basis of his opposition to the War on Drugs and the assault of authoritarian government upon the Bill of Rights of the United States Constitution that goes hand-in-hand with the War on Drugs. At that time (1994) Jack warned in his speeches that, "If the citizenry allows the government to violate the Constitution for the War on Drugs, what is going to happen to our freedoms if there is ever a real crisis, such as a terrorist attack?"
- 1998
- The Democratic Party nominated Jack for Colorado House District 62, which at that time extended from Broomfield to Breckenridge.
- 2004
- The Libertarian Party nominates Jack for Colorado's 6th US Congressional District. Appearing with on KBDI's candidate debates with the Democrat and the Republican, the group is asked, "When will the United States be out of Iraq?" The Democrat and the Republican waffle; Jack Woehr replies, "Not in our lifetimes."
- 2006
- The Libertarian Party nominates Jack for Colorado's 6th US Congressional District. Appearing with on KBDI's candidate debates with the Democrat and the Republican, the group is again asked, "When will the United States be out of Iraq?" The Democrat and the Republican waffle; Jack Woehr once again replies, "Not in our lifetimes."
- 2008
- March 8, 2008: The Colorado Libertarian Convention in Ft. Collins nominates Jack Woehr for Colorado House District 25.
