It should go without saying that the Libertarian Party is philosophically and pragmatically opposed to any sort of bailout to corporations, especially when they've been run as poorly as American auto manufactures.  But what are the economists saying about the auto bailouts?  I've compiled some snippets from various economists, and put them together here for your reading pleasure:

This week, the main buzz is sure to be about possibly bailing-out the automotive industries in Detroit, known as the "Big Three."  The Big Three consist of the three major automotive manufacturers: Ford, General Motors and Chrysler.

"This is just the beginning," says Bob Barr, the 2008 presidential nominee of the Libertarian Party.

He couldn't be more right.

The 2008 election was yet another record-breaking year for the Libertarian Party.  Not only did two candidates break the million-vote mark, it was also the first time in the Party's history that our presidential vote total went up in three consecutive presidential elections.
